(you will not need some of the outdoor things if it is an indoor workshop)
My Oil Palette (if you have a palette you are comfortable with you can use that) 


Cadmium Yellow Light (and Medium if you like)

Yellow Ochre (optional)

Quinacridone red (Permanent Rose)

Cadmium Orange

Ultrmarine Blue

Manganese Blue

Titanium or Titanium/Zinc White

Optional: Burnt Sienna or warm earth tone, Cadmium Red
Miscellaneous
Plastic or paper viewer

Brushes: Bristle- several sm, med, lg, flats and/or filberts, rounds if 
you like them.

Small thin long watercolor brush "Rigger" good for fine lines and signing!

:Wipe Out Tool" by Creative Mark, for removing paint-incredible!


This is a very valuable tool, try to get one, google it to find it.

Paper towels(Viva is great) or blue shop towels (cheaper), or kleenex

Hand wipes or hand cleaner

Medium size plastic bags for used towels, etc.

Palette knife(s), medium, metal pointy trowel shaped kind, for painting



Odorless Mineral Spirits, or Turpenoid (purchase at destination if 


traveling by air)

Metal container that seals well

Small container of medium if you like (optional)

Wood or plexiglass palette, paper does not work well outside

Several small (6x8), medium sized,or larger if you like, canvases, panels or canvas pads (Old Holland or Centurian LX, both linen,


can later be glued or to gatorboard or similar)


If you are painting directly on linen from a pad you will need tape.

Portable easel (google “plein air painting supplies") 




I own the Easyl and love it, there areinexpensive alternatives (Sun
Eden,Windsor Newton, etc ) It is worth


the time to look carefully at all options before buying.

*Check with the workshop contact if it's an indoor workshop, you may 
not need an outdoor easel if they are provided.




















Small drawing pad and dark pencil or charcoal and camera (optional)

Painting umbrella that attaches to easel (optional)
Sunscreen, bug spray, hat/visor, windbeaker, warm jacket, disposable

gloves, warm gloves, waterbottle and food! 




Photos of landscapes you have taken yourself that include skies 
and clouds. Bring a nice variety (for indoor class or bad weather)

Oh yes, and don't forget your Sense of Humor!!!
