This class will cover learning how to see differently, and will focus on the special quality of light and elements found near the water. We will also explore the relationship of the skies and clouds above it. Each student will explore their own emotional response to this beauty in paint.
Composition, values, light patterns, design, color, and atmospheric perspective wil be covered. Demonstrations, group critiques, and lots of personal attention are included.
This workshop will be held outdoors if weather permits, otherwise indoors. Friday evening will include a receptioin and a slide show and we will paint Saturday and Sunday.
Students may be beginner to advanced , but participants should have a solid knowledge of the medium they will use. Oil or water based oils are recommended, and pastels are welcome. Acrylics and watercolor should be used only if the student knows well how to deal with the rapid drying process of these mediums outside.
