This class will focus on choosing subject matter, simplifying the  elements found in the landscape and the sky, and building a strong composition for more success.

Design, color, values and atmospheric perspective will be covered. Also, new ways to think about your paint application and the use of light patterns, to put excitement into your paintings.
Demonstrations, group critiques, and personal attention are included.  This workshop will be held indoors but may go outside if weather permits.

Students may be beginner to advanced in plein air painting, but participants should have a solid knowledge of the medium they will use.  Oil or water based oils are recommended and pastels and "open" acrylics are welcome.  Acrylics should be used only if the student knows well how to deal with the rapid drying process of this medium and have experience with it..
