Plein Air Painting in the Heart of Mexico
A very special workshop in

San Miguel

Allende
Classes February 6-10,
2012

The weather is at it's best in February in San Miguel!  Warm days and cool evenings.  This well known artist's colony is a  painter's dream and a delight in many ways.

Galleries and Art Openings, great (safe) restaurants, great music, theatre, classes of all kinds, markets, and celebrations, are but a part of what San Miguel de Allende has to offer.  (Though speaking Spanish is the most fun, English is spoken widely and many Americans and Europeans live and own businesses here.) You don't really need a car there and cabs are very inexpensive.

This workshop will cover composition and design, the effects of light and color, (and there is lots of that!) paint quality and technique, and how to see differently, while capturing the charms of San Miguel.  Demonstrations, group critiques and personal attention will be generously given.

We will paint  in the Centro, with it's fabulous doorways, streets parks , and on the outskirts for broader landscapes and big skies.

Beginner to advanced in plein air is welcome but students should have a  good knowledge of the medium they will use.  (Any medium)

Information will be provided regarding all supplies, packing for air travel and  extending your stay if interested. The closet airport is Leon and it's about a 1 1/2 hour shuttle ride (approx $35) to San Miguel.
