This class will focus on the importance of plein air painting and the quality of light around water, skies and cloud formations. Class will also cover how to have a stronger beginning and choose subject matter for more overall success.
Composition, values, light patterns, design, color, atmospheric perspective and use of dramatic and subtle light will be covered. Demonstrations, group critiques, and lots of personal attention are included. The student will also learn how to “critique” their own work.
This workshop will be held outdoors if weather permits, otherwise indoors.
Students may be beginner to advanced , but participants should have a solid knowledge of the medium they will use. Oil or water based oils are recommended, and acrylics should be the “open” kind. Pastel and watercolor is welcome also.
